The Christian’s present identity is deeply rooted in Israel’s covenant story. Israel was God’s son, priestly nation, and holy possession, yet failed in its calling. Christ, the true Israel, fulfilled this vocation, and the church – united to Him – now shares that identity: Adopted children, holy nation, Spirit-filled temple, and citizens of a coming kingdom.
