What Are Small Groups?

By the term ‘Small Groups’ we certainly are not implying… ‘Small-minded’! Neither are we casting aspersions on large congregational meetings – WE DO BOTH! We believe it’s healthy for people to fellowship in both large groups and small groups and we provide both fellowship-groups for all people.

Some of OUR SMALL GROUPS are home fellowship groups, prayer meetings, discussion groups for young people, children’s groups and other specific-need groups which minister to the particular needs of different people.

Other groups include men’s breakfasts and our life-changing  ‘Recovery Groups’… all ministering more intimately and specifically to individual needs… not merely on a social level, but at a spiritual level as well.

We see these two expressions of fellowship in the following verse:

Acts 2:46-47
So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, 47 praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the churchdaily those who were being saved.

Acts 5:42
And daily in the temple, and in every house, they did not cease teaching and preaching Jesus as the Christ.

Acts 20:20-21
How I kept back nothing that was helpful, but proclaimed it to you, and taught you publicly and from house to house…
